First, packing. I tallied everything up and I spent almost exactly $600 just to get everything for this mission. That includes: clothes, shoes, getting-ready-supplies (make-up, shampoo, conditioner, etc), living-on-my-own supplies (straightener, blow dryer, hair stuff, etc), and missionary supplies (preach my gospel, missionary reference library, etc). That does not include things that my parents got my for Christmas and my birthday such as alarm clock, sheets, some minor clothes, a camera, some journals (I'm bringing 4), and a big fluffy pillow.
Also part of packing, I am bringing several scarves so I looked up some fun ways to tie a scarf. This is one really great pic I found.
One big thing I was worried about was the MTC. I didn't know what to expect, I mean it's not like I've been there before. But these blogs were very helpful and they are done by sisters who have been in the MTC within the past month. It has lists of things they wish they would have known or had before they entered the MTC.

Second, preparing. I think that preparing for a mission is much harder than just packing for it. This included things such as reading scriptures everyday, gathering recipes, 30 minute workouts, studying, etc. There was a lot of work I put into for this part.
One of the first things I did was read Jesus the Christ. If you read 15 pages a day, I believe you can finish it in about 50 days (depending on what copy you have). This was extremely helpful and I highly recommend reading it before you leave.
The second thing I did was attend Mission Prep. Please please PLEASE if you can attend Mission Prep do so! And if you can't, make time! It is so important and SO helpful if you go!
Third thing was look up ways I wanted to mark up my mission scriptures (I got a second copy just for my mission) just for my mission. I wanted them to be special. One really good idea I got from my mission prep teacher was to mark them according to Preach My Gospel. If you get the 18 pack of erasable scripture crayons from Deseret Book (Erasable Scripture Crayons-Deseret Book) then there are exactly the right amount of colors to assign each color to a section of Preach My Gospel. The next step is that under each "color" section there are smaller sections with scriptures. This especially holds true for the lessons in Chapter 3. I gave each scripture section a small 1-2 letter title. For example Plan of Salvation is PS or Kingdoms of Glory is KG or Atonement is A (you get the picture). Then in my scriptures, I find the verses that coordinate with each smaller scripture section. I outline those verses in the color of that section and then write it's 1-2 letter title next to the first verse. Then I can flip through my scriptures and see which verses go under which section in Preach My Gospel (by color) and further, which smaller part of that section (by title). So far, this has worked really well for me.So now my scriptures are all ready, I'm going to Mission Prep and I've ready Jesus the Christ. Now what? Now I got down to the little nitty gritty things. First, as one sister suggested, I created a list of different 30 minute workouts that you can do without going to the gym. I looked up a bunch of different workouts on Pinterest and then then compiled them. This is what I got:

He also has some really cool ideas on how to mark your scriptures different study helps. I would also recommend looking into his Book of Mormon war chapter headings. He has some really cool ideas for real world spiritual application of those stories.
Finally, I found this really cool picture called a Scripture Directory. It basically just has a ton of different questions or problems that you may be struggling with and what scripture you should "call" to help you fix whatever situation you are going through. I figured this would be a good thing to print out and put up on my wall where I can always look at it.
